Minimum Competencies:
  • Mechanical Technologist of Trade certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanic or shipping tanker
  • Minimum of 3 years related to experience in an industrial maintenance environment (preferably in offshore/ shipping tanker)
  • Working knowledge of steam system or vessel related mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read relevant technical drawings and piping specification.
  • Effective communication skill (written, oral and computer.
  • Proficient in English both written and verbal.
Specific Accountabilities:
  • To take part in all kind of routine maintenance and repair work as directed by 2nd Engineer.
  • To assist Fitter for the welding, cutting, grinding, and fitting works.
  • Carry out cleaning and painting work in the engine room.
  • Other duties as per the Chief Engineer or Second Engineer’s instruction.
  • To be ownership of housekeeping for Engine room stores and worshop ;
  • To maintain Engine Room Workshop including work space and all Lathe Machine, Welding, Drilling, Grinding/Cutting Machine and Hand tool in safe and proper condition as required
  • Stops work that is unsafe or likely to cause damage and report all hazardous conditions, near misses and accidents
  • To ensure that equipment and material instructions are followed.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate hazards to safety – both personal and process, that present a risk to safety on board the FPSO.
Location: FPSO Vessel, Offshore, VietNam.
