Position 1: Fabrication Superintendent
Job Description

The primary function of a Superintendent is to ensure that the employees under their control are effectively managed by the supervisors to maximise productivity. This function takes precedence over all other responsibilities, authorities and administrative duties. It will require the Superintendent to be on the floor for at least 60% of every day, and to ensure that they visit each area of their operation on an equal, and regular basis. In addition to contact with their supervisors during the “walk and talk”, they are to have regular contact with many of their employees and, as a minimum, should know each one of their employees by name.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities/Nhiệm vụ & Trách nhiệm chính
- Ensure OHS&E policies & guidelines are carried out
- Follow approved company processes as defined in Strategic Marine’s Business Management System
- Continually seek to identify & minimize areas of risk and/or waste
- Responsible for the preparation of schedules in conjunction with Supervisors, the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of milestones and rescheduling as required.
- Responsible for ensuring materials are delivered on time.
- Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of adequate stock levels.
- Ensuring correct construction procedures are adhered to in compliance with Strategic Marines Quality Standards.
- Assisting with maintaining safe working practice and good housekeeping in all areas and ensuring Strategic Marines Safety policy and Work Safe regulations are followed.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are understood and followed, particularly in relation to:
- Quality Assurance
- Superintendents must have a presence on the shop floor. Ensure they have a point of contact with a number of people in their department excluding their supervisors.
- Attend one toolbox meeting per week as an observer.
· Responsible for resource planning.
- Conduct regularly and timely performance review for all direct reports.
- Provide/give positive and corrective feedback to direct reports/Manager about performance in a timely manner.
- Motive team members toward the common goals/objectives.
- Works cooperatively with all members of the Fabrication team to develop and implement staffing plans and activities.
Interpersonnel Management/Quản lý kết nối
· Responsible for liaising with and directing outside contractors as required.
· Liaise with other trade Managers, Supervisors and Superintendents, as required.

· Responsible for sourcing and distributing Design, Material and Class information to supervisors.
· On a required basis, provide input and justification for capital expenditure.
· Provide input on a regular basis at department meetings regarding:
o Morale
o Product Improvement
o Cost Savings
o Weight Savings
o Additional Tooling or Machinery Requirements

POSITION 2: SUPERVISOR-WELDING/FABRICATION

To ensure productivity is maximized through effective people management, planning, scheduling and utilizing the 10 Fundamentals of Supervision.

- Ensure OHS&E policies & guidelines are carried out
- Follow approved company processes as defined in Strategic Marine’s Business Management System
- Continually seek to identify & minimize areas of risk and/or waste
· Plan, allocate and monitor daily tasks/goals in keeping with the build schedule, providing employee’s with technical advice, direction, feedback and coaching
· Plan material requirements
· Maintain quality standards throughout all production processes, e.g. construction, Inspection and where necessary rework correction
· Manage / care of company property, e.g. tools, equipment, other
People Management/Quản lý con người
· Manage personnel using the 10 fundamentals of Supervision.
- Performance management of staff; including, motivation, encouragement, recognition, feedback, assessments (as relevant, e.g. new starters, annual)
· Liaise / manage the expedition / logistic movement of Materials & components as per work requirements
· Liaise with Superintendent on issues of performance, conflict & discipline
· Monitor and direct external contactors as necessary

· Provide input on a regular basis to direct employees regarding:

· Ensure all timesheets are processed and correct job codes are allocated daily

Position 3: Design Superintendent- Naval Architect
Position Purpose/ Mục đích chức danh công việc
To oversee design engineers and ensure all structural & fit-out designs conform to project specification and Class requirements

- Allocate design tasks to design engineers
- Ensure integration of all structure and fit-out
- Ensure correct supplier information is used in all structure design
- Co-ordinate production details with relevant line managers
- Oversee the writing of procurement specifications for major pieces of equipment
- Ensure designs comply with technical specification
- Ensure designs comply with Class and Flag requirements
- Co-ordinate design information for submission to Class and Flag authorities
- Assist with developing shipyard standards for Structure and connection details
- Oversee and review stability analysis before submission to Class
- Prepare inclining experiment procedures, conduct inclining experiments, prepare inclining report and stability books
This position requires the staff member to have significant interaction with a wide range of local and foreign suppliers

Position 3: Design Draftsman- Structural

To prepare drawings as instructed by the Design Engineer; structural, mechanical, electric, HVAC systems in conformance with Project Specification and Class requirements

- Complete design tasks as allocated by Design Engineers in accordance with Technical Specification, Class and Flag requirements
- Use correct supplier information in all designs
- Produce production details in conjunction with relevant line managers
- Assist with developing shipyard standards
- This position requires the staff member to have interaction with a wide range of local and foreign suppliers
Knowledge/Kiến thức
- Knowledge of the marine and shipbuilding industry
- Understanding of ship system design and operation
- Knowledge and understanding of current IMO regulations
- Bachelor of Engineering (Marine) desired but not essential.
