1.Drilling engineer that works as a Cost Controller

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Support Sr Drilling Engineer in the Operations preparations and programs.
  • Coordinate Service Call outs and support Drilling Superintendent during operations
  • Coordinate Drilling and Completion costs estimation, progress tracking and reporting, invoice processing, and final cost reconciliation within the Drilling Dept.
  • Contracts and call-off monitoring. Works together with SCM Coordinator to make sure all the call off issue are in compliance with the contract and monitor the expenditure progress. Maintain control system to make sure all expenditure not exceeded the contract value.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the D&C Wells Manager and drilling leadership team keeping them updated of any over or under runs on approved budgets.
  • Prepare a daily cost report during operations. Monitor and control proper cost allocations.
  • With Team Leaders support, forecast the well cost to ensure it is in the AFE cost, and in case of deviation, estimate it to support D&C Wells Manager request for a supplemental AFE.
  • Maintain a system of tracking all Contracts / PO / SO and Invoices
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
1. Qualifications & Work Experience Requirements:

  • Engineering degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ industry experience with 5-years as drilling engineer
  • Familiar with D&C supply chain (tendering) processes beneficial
  • Fully capable of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Advanced working knowledge of proprietary cost systems, spread sheets, word processing and other based Microsoft office products.
2. Soft Skills:
  • Effective team-player, able to work unsupervised
  • Focused on delivering results to a consistently high standard
  • Fully complies with company processes and standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to effectively work within a skilled, multi-cultural team
  • Able to liaise effectively with 3rd party suppliers and contractors
  • Able to work effectively within a multi-discipline project environment particularly with Finance, Planning, Project Services and SCM disciplines
  • Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize tasks and deliver on-time
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills,
  • Clear and concise report writing skills
2.Cost Controller – We can think about somebody with SCM profile that can support us now with the contracts

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Coordinate Drilling and Completion costs estimation, progress tracking and reporting, invoice processing, and final cost reconciliation within the Drilling Dept.
  • Assist Team leaders to prepare AFE's & MSR's ensuring that all supporting documentation is in order and any applicable relevant taxes are included within the value of the AFE & MSR and monitor approvals
  • Ensure that the AFE Report is updated with the latest information to ensure that the VOWD and EFC are correct taking into account any changes
  • Ensure that the workscope in the AFE & MSR have approved budget.
  • Produce AFE status reports, Change Control Reports, VOWD reports, accruals and other reports available in DCS on a monthly and as-required basis
  • Contract Administration. Follow up and update D&C team about any change in contracts and updates. Arrange review of all the D&C’s major contracts for relevant D&C members prior to the start of operations.

  • Set up and maintain the Drilling Cost Control System
  • Provide regular progress updates to the D&C Wells Manager and drilling leadership team keeping them updated of any over or under runs on approved budgets.
  • Prepare a daily cost report during operations. Monitor and control proper cost allocations.
  • With Team Leaders support, forecast the well cost to ensure it is in the AFE cost, and in case of deviation, estimate it to support D&C Wells Manager request for a supplemental AFE.
  • Tracking of drilling invoices to ensure invoices are approved and paid in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the correctness and completeness of all invoices. Invoices with errors and incomplete supporting documents will be to be returned to the Finance Dept. for forwarding to contractors with a brief explanation as to why the invoice has been rejected
  • Ensure invoices received are covered by Contracts, PO or SO. In the event invoices received without proper documentation, the end user will be informed and proper documentation shall be obtained prior to the approval of the invoices;
  • Check all CO requests from contractors as to the commercial eligibility in consultation with the Drilling SCM Coordinator
  • Ensure payments for Contracts / PO / SO do not exceed the approved contract value
  • Maintain a system of tracking all Contracts / PO / SO and Invoices

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

1. Qualifications & Work Experience Requirements:
  • Relevant degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ industry experience with 5-years in drilling cost control with a recognized operator
  • Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, economics.
  • Extensive experience with financial procedures, in specific Vietnam financial regulations and rules.
  • Extensive experience with Audits in Vietnam.
  • Knowledge and working in a PSC environment is an advantage;
  • Basic understanding of offshore drilling and completion operations beneficial
  • Familiar with D&C supply chain (tendering) processes
  • Fully capable of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Advanced working knowledge of proprietary cost systems, spread sheets, word processing and other based Microsoft office products.
