Job Description:​

  • Responsible for checking compliance with management system requirements according to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, the HSE rules of client are applied on FPSO.
  • Liaise closely with HSEQ department to review, revise HSE procedures for suitable with FPSO activities, requirements of the law and related conventions.
  • Provide a checking control for operational procedures and work instructions (which involve health, safety and environment aspects) and to identify any health, safety and environment issues and ensure compliance with any requirements.
  • Take the lead in following established HSE procedures, including updating the Management System Manual (MSM) and put in proper locations (CCR, OIM Office, Ship office).
  • Giving safety induction to incoming and outgoing crews.
  • Participate in facility management audit and site safety inspection as the plan.
  • Identify occupational hygiene issues and co-ordinate or conduct relevant surveys assessments and training sessions. Implement occupational hygiene monitoring programs. Conducting regular accommodation and hygiene inspection with the medic and camp-boss
  • Responsible for witness inspection & test run lifeboat engines, LSA and fire-fighting system,
  • Participate actively in all safety meetings on the FPSO. Present Safety Alerts, bulletins etc. from other operations, to improve safety awareness. All key safety issues from the safety meetings to be minuted by Secretary- Safety Officer on-board and captured to SAIL list for monitoring close out
  • Responsible for checking all conditions on the ICs appointed to combine with HOD to monitor close update all long term ICs in the IC logbook, coordinating with related HOD to review all long term ICs and in-charge of maintaining the keys for the padlock and LOTO Register.
  • Team member of incident/ accident investigation and follow-up action reporting systems, incorporating the database recording system and statistical reports and information.
  • Develop and implement proactive programs to improve and/or enhance the FPSO Operations Health, Safety and Environment culture and performance.
  • Liaise closely with offshore personnel to provide technical advice and support in managing health, safety and environmental issues including hazard identification, risk assessment for the removal, mitigation or control of workplace hazards.
  • Oversee with relevant HODs the integrity of equipment for Emergency Response Plans and Oil Spill Response Plans. Co-ordinate Emergency Response exercises, drills and exercises on FPSO.
  • Advise, co-ordinate and where appropriate, develop and/or conduct technical safety and health training sessions/programs. Conduct regular in-house safety refresher training to POB and plan for safety video presentation to the crews.
  • Monitor, record and report data as required by the Company Environmental Management on environmental issues and waste disposal programs. Plan and advice, when necessary, resources to achieve the main objectives of the Health
  • Identify and request Safety and Environmental section within approved budgetary limits.
  • Monitor the management of the chemical/hazardous material database and approve any new hazardous substance prior to it being shipped to the FPSO.
  • Conducting baggage inspection of outgoing passengers and make report of any unauthorised removal of any item from the facility.
  • Inspection and inventories of MARPOL and firefighting equipment and advice on expiry date where applicable for recertification.
  • Responsible person for coordinating the issued MOC (review carefully before submit to ΟΙΜ).
  • Participate in the HSE review of all Company organisational changes before approval for implementation.
  • Periodic inspection to ensure validity of safety certificates required for personnel and equipment on board the FPSO.
  • Liaise with all HODs’ on HSE components of Technical integrity
  • Liaise with the FPSO OIM and HODs’ on HSE matters
  • Liaises with Client’s key personnel on HSE matters.II
  • Liaise with HSE department in the office for clarification of HSE matters and not limited to procurement of safety equipment spares
  • Job Requirements​

    • University or college marine graduated.
    • Good in using English both spoken and written
    • Proficient in using the office software as Word, Excel, PowerPoint…
    • A sound understanding of, HSE rules and legal requirements as Law on Occupational Safety Hygiene, Fire Prevention and Fighting, environmental protection.
    • Trained and certified in PTW system; Hazard Identification: Accident/ Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Risk Assessment: Safety Officer, Internal Auditor course on Integrated Management System as per ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & 150 45001:2018-Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety,
    • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental standards applicable to the industry. A demonstrable strong commitment to safety, health and the environment.
    • Experience in administering safety and health training programs
    • Experience in auditing of an offshore operation particularly FPSO/FSO or equivalent.
    • Formal Safety qualifications, providing a suitable level of knowledge and experience can be displayed.
    • Experience working as safety officer in offshore facilities.
