Well Cost Controller

Well Cost Controller
Working location: Ho Chi Minh City.
Purpose:
- To enable effective control of drilling expenditures by the provision of timely reporting as required by Management and Drilling Operations.
- Day to day drilling expenditure costing using spreadsheets and the original AFE detail plus daily reports and input from the drilling unit, supply base and operations team.
- Tracking of costs versus plan, updates and forecasts dependent on progress. Advising the Drilling Manager when a supplementary AFE is required.
- Monitoring contract expenditure and if above authorized thresholds advising the Drilling Manager.
- Ensuring the correct allocation of consumables to wells and update of the financial inventory during drilling based upon records of movements and usages provided by the VTSB as required and at close out, using and updating the Logistics and Materials Control Procedures.
- Invoice checking/coding/in compliance with contract provisions. Distribution of all Drilling invoices within the operations group for approvals.
- Timely provide estimation for monthly cost & financing to Asset Accounting team.
- Completion of end of well financial reconciliation report with input on variances from the operations team.
- Pre-audit preparation and liaison with audit team upon Drilling Campaign related issues.
- Attend regular and ad hoc operations meetings as required and provide financial /cost input when required.
- Any other ad hoc tasks
- Understanding of drilling and logistics process and experience of well costing and accounting. preferable with some experience in the field
- Strong understanding of major oil company’s reporting and invoicing processes.
- Solid understanding of business interdependencies.
- Well cost tracking and reporting for an E&P company
- Good spoken and written English
- Team player and excellent communicator
- 7 years in the industry with at least one well costing project delivered
