The PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) organized a workshop to promote initiatives in the second quarter on May 29 in Vung Tau City. Chairman of the PV Gas Trade Union Nguyen Van Hung chaired the workshop.
At the workshop, PV Gas Trade Union Initiative Committee Head Mai Xuan Ba said that during the 2011-2015 period PV Gas registered nearly 400 initiatives worth almost VND850 billion, including 46 recognized by the PV Gas Council of Science and Technology, five receiving Certificates of Merit and six recognized by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN).
Some of the most prominent initiatives include the misting system for K-1011A/B/C/D cooling compressors at the Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant, saving the company VND15.8 billion, the solution to increase the capacity of the Nam Con Son Gas Processing Plant saving US$7.3 million, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) survey and pig launching results synchronization solution saving VND 22.5 billion and improved manufacture of magnetic clamps saving more than VND12 billion.
The PV Gas Trade Union launched the Creative Labor movement in the beginning of 2016 with the intention of promoting innovative activities that benefit the company.
The workshop received many constructional opinions and suggestions from leaders and representatives with a view to further improving the movement especially in terms of creating favorable conditions for union members to better contribute to the development of the company.
Nguyen Van Hung rated the initiatives contributed during the 2011-2015 period as highly practical for the company and the PV Gas as one of the bright spots of the PVN. He also promised that the PV Gas Trade Union would continue to encourage union members to promote creativity at work to reap more successes.
PV Gas member units should consider initiative criteria while rating individuals and organizations for wage raise or bonuses, provide workers training courses on methods of creative thinking and implementation and organize periodical initiative exchanges.
PV Gas leaders often visit member units to get known of the current situation to provide directions on how to effectively organize and coordinate the implementation of initiatives, while lending support in terms of initiative management and application.
The chairman also confirmed that PV Gas is willing to create all favorable conditions for member units, especially in terms of financial and human resources, to develop and put initiatives into practice. Regular and irregular assessment of initiatives will be conducted for rating and awarding purposes, with a view to further encourage PV Gas Trade Union members to think out more valuable initiatives.
