An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Training and Competence Coordinator to join our organization:

Specific Accountabilities:

  • The role of the Training Coordinator is to ensure that the on-line Training and Competency database is populated in order to ensure our operational offshore staff are competent to undertake their roles within the business
  • And will drive continuous improvement in performance and will give guidance and direction to other team members as required
  • The Training Coordinator is an Onshore / Offshore Support role, reporting to the HR / Administration Manager with a close working relationship with the Operations, Maintenance and HSE Departments
  • Liaise with Client Competency and Training responsibility person to ensure the Competency Assurance System should be run within the budget
  • Work closely with Client Competency and Training responsibility person to ensure their Operations & Production targets and KPIs regarding operations crew are planned and achieved

Key tasks of the Training & Competence Coordinator include:
  • Supervise, monitor and develop the training matrix, budget annually
  • Manage online Competence Assurance System, ensuring at all times that the modules and Competency Unit Standards fully reflect the competency requirements of the assets to be operated and maintained
  • Manage the process of individual Competence Assessment and Assurance [CA&A] planning.
  • Manage the process of third-party training plan and schedule
  • Co-ordinate the process of third-party training provision [including HSE, vendor /technical training, linked to the Competence Assurance System]
  • Manage the ongoing development of the workplace assessment infrastructure, ensuring that assessor resources match assessment requirements
  • Manage and co-ordinate the process of workplace assessment
  • Manage the quality assurance [verification] of assessment process
  • Trouble shooting / escalating operating issues on the system
  • Develop functions on the system to operate Competence Assurance System properly
Minimum Competencies:
  • Graduated university
  • Previous experience of working with HR Dept
  • Strong background in computerized and systems
  • Proficient in using computer, fluently in power point, word and excel of Microsoft office
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas Sector
  • Knowledge of competence assurance processes and e-learning package’s
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Able to confidently present oneself, interact comfortably and professionally with personnel at every level; able to quickly build relationships and work with colleagues at all levels within the business
  • Must be a good team player and work confidentially at all times
  • Positive attitude which influences delivery to the business; helpful, professional, personable, and friendly manner
  • Able to prioritize workload in line with business requirements, and to produce work accurately and work to tight deadlines
  • Able to deal assertively and diplomatically with peers and managers, and to challenge situations appropriately
  • Data rational including data entry & retrieval skills together with validation of data
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail
